Integrate Social Sync with Facebook and Instagram

Integrating your Facebook page with your Social Sync account allows you to take advantage of our 1-click Facebook fundraiser creation forms as well as allowing you to import transaction data from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) into Social Sync.

Customers with Pro accounts will also be able to automate their nightly imports so fresh data is always available to you every morning.

Getting started is easy, and for our self-serve customers, the Facebook integration is the first step in your onboarding journey, so you won't have a Social Sync account without having first gone through the steps outlined below.

For managed customers, we will typically create a Social Sync account for you, and then ask you to connect the account to Facebook. Here's how:


Create Facebook Integration

Step 1: Integrations settings

To get started, choose Settings from the left menu, then choose integrations from the tabs across the top of the page. Click the Get Started button on the Facebook Fundraising API card


On the next page, just click Connect new page. Later you'll be able to manage your connected page(s) here.​



Step 2: Connect to Facebook

Simply connect to Facebook, or log in if you're prompted to. You'll need to be using Facebook as your personal profile rather than as your page.

Important: You'll need to have admin privileges on the Facebook page you want to connect. If you don't then it won't appear in the list in the next step and you'll be unable to proceed. In this case please contact a colleague to to either add you as a page admin or to complete this integration on your behalf.

Step 3: Choose the Facebook page you want to connect

Once you connect your profile a list of the pages you are an admin are available to choose from. Just select the page you want to connect to Social Sync.

Important: Your Facebook page must have Meta's fundraising tools enabled for you to be able to proceed. If these are not already enabled then you should stop here and sign up via Facebook [instructions here]. It may take a couple of weeks for Meta to process your application.

Step 4: Confirm permissions

Simply confirm the permissions. We require all permissions to be enabled for the app to work properly.

Step 5: Link your account

Finally link the page you just connected via the Facebook authenication process to your social sync account. Just click the Link page button to finalise the process.

Step 6 (optional): Activate nightly imports

This Pro feature automates the import of your transaction data on a daily basis. A nice little time saver.


Manage Facebook Integration

You can return to the above page at any time to see the current status of your Facebook integration and connect additional pages (Pro only).

The 3 dots menu also gives the option to reconnect each page's connection, which may be required from time to time e.g. as we expand our product offering and require additional permissions.

You can also disconnect your Facebook page at any time which will instantly remove our ability to create fundraisers for your nonprofit or retrieve any donation data via the charity reporting API.
