Once you have connected your Facebook Fundraising API via the Integrations page in Settings, you can go ahead and import you Facebook Transactions in to Social Sync via your account Data Hub:

Imports

Beneath the calendar view you will find two options for importing your data.

Upload CSV

If you have a csv file saved then you can choose this option and follow these steps:

  1. Click Upload CSV.

  2. Choose file from your computer.

  3. Take a look at the Import History section on the right and you will see when your task has completed on the Status bar.

MORE INFO: Social Sync validates your csv file to make sure that it matches your integrated Facebook account and checks that it has not been corrupted or edited and also that all of the headers in the file line up with those in it's destination - clever, right?

API Import

If you want to use the Facebook API transaction import then follow these steps:

  1. Click API Import.

  2. Select your required date range.

  3. Click Import.

  4. Take a look at the Import History section and you will see when your task has completed on the Status bar.

TOP TIP: A smaller date range means a quicker upload and the maximum you can do is 3 months at a time. You can go further back than that though and simply select another 3 month period.

Fully and Partially Imported Data

The calendar widget is colour coded to show you how complete your data import has been for each day.

Green = fully imported data

Grey = partially imported data

No coloured circle on a date means that there is no data for that day.

πŸ”˜ Partial Data

When Social Sync run a challenge for your charity we get live donor information from Facebook which is how we show as close to up to date as possible fundraised income amounts in your campaign views, and on your supporters personal total trackers.

When this happens though Facebook do not provide a complete data set for that individual donation.

The bare minimum that we receive live tells us that a persons fundraiser page received a donation of x amount at a certain date and time and that the transaction was successful.

At this point we can show that we have Partial Data as shown in the calendar view.

🟒 Imported Data

Once you run a data import, either manually or through our nightly automation feature, the live data above will be matched with all the missing data points in the transaction report such as donor information and Gift Aid status.
