You can manually import fundraiser and donor data from JustGiving using an API import. This process ensures that any organic fundraisers created outside of Social Sync are visible within the platform.
To check if your data ingestion is up to date for JutsGiving, click the calendar button in the JustGiving card.
Did you know you can enable nightly imports for JustGiving? Enabling nightly imports means you don't have to manually import organic JustGiving fundraiser and donor data, instead it will be automatically uploaded to Social Sync each night.
Import using the JustGiving API
To manually import JustGiving fundraiser and donor data to Social Sync using the JustGiving API:
Click Import – In Platform Imports section in the Import Hub, click on the Import button next to JustGiving.
Click API Import – In the slide over that pops out, select API Import.
Select JustGiving account – Select the correct JustGiving account from the dropdown.
Select date range – Manually select the date range or click a predetermined date range offered by Social Sync.
Click Continue – Once the JustGiving account and date range have been selected, click Continue to retrieve fundraiser and donation records.
Upload successful – A success message should display and you'll be prompted to exit. If an error message displays, you'll be prompted to retry.
Import History table – Your import will display in the Import History Table. The status column will state whether the import is processing, complete or an error occurred. To view a breakdown of the import, click on the three vertical dots next to import and then click Inspect.
JustGiving calendar
Click the calendar button in the JustGiving card, select a date and a breakdown containing transactions, fundraisers and revenue will display.
Imported data is broken down by:
Transactions – The number of donations made.
Fundraisers – The number of fundraisers created.
Revenue – The donation total.
Each date in the calendar is colour coded:
Green – Transactions recorded.
Amber – Fundraising pages recorded but no transactions.
Grey – No data available.
Nightly imports for JustGiving
If nightly imports are enabled for a platform, a green "Automated Imports Enabled" badge will be visible on the platform card in the Platform Imports section in the Import Hub.
If nightly imports are not enabled for a platform a yellow "Enable Automated Imports" badge will be visible instead.
To manually enable nightly imports:
Click Enable Automated Imports – In Platform Imports section in the Import Hub, click on the "Enable Automated Imports" badge on the platform card.
Turn on the Automated nightly imports switch – In the slide over that appears, click the grey switch next to Automated nightly imports to make it green. A green switch indicates that automated nightly imports have been enabled.
Close the slide over – Once the Automated nightly imports switch becomes green, the automated imports status will update to a green Automated Imports Enabled badge in the platform card.
