How to export campaign data

Export data as a CSV file directly from a Social Sync campaign.

👩‍💻 At a Glance

Campaign dashboards provide an overview of your key campaign metrics. For further analysis, you may want to export your campaign data as a CSV file.

You can export all campaign data or a filtered subset of the data based on data table filtering options.

If you are wanting to bulk export data from a range of campaigns, you will need to do this via the Reports area in the Data Centre. For guidance, take a look at Reporting.

Choosing what data to export

First you need to decide what data you need to export. The tabs you can export campaign data from include:

  • Supporters

  • Orders

  • Journeys

  • Transactions

In most cases the tabs of the campaign dashboard will give you a clear idea of the type of data available in each file, however for a comprehensive view of the data included with each file type, please see our comprehensive export specifications.

Exporting data

To export data from within a campaign:

  1. Click into the relevant campaign.

  2. Select the tab you want to export from – Supporters, Orders, Journeys or Transactions.

  3. Click the Export button.

  4. Select All or Filtered:

    1. All – All records in the tab.

    2. Filtered – The filtered selection of records in the tab. Filtered will only be clickable when a filter has been applied to the selection via the Filter button to the left of Export.

  5. A confirmation modal will appear saying the export is in progress.

  6. Once the file is ready, you can download the export from the Report History table in the Reports area in the Data Centre.

Depending on the size of the export requested, it may take some time to complete. In the meantime you can continue navigating the app as normal.

Downloading your exported data

All export requests are run on a queue based system and will be sent to the Report History table in the Reports area in the Data Centre.

Within the Report History table, you will be able to download the individual files and see a log of all requested exports, along with additional data on their status, date of export and who requested the export.
