Import JustGiving fundraiser and donor data into Social Sync using the JustGiving API. This helps bring organic JustGiving fundraisers created outside Social Sync into the same campaign view, so fundraiser activity and donations can sit alongside your wider registration and supporter journey data.
You can import data manually at any time, or enable nightly automated imports so new JustGiving fundraiser and donor data is brought into Social Sync automatically.
Did you know you can automate your JustGiving imports? Enable nightly imports and Social Sync will automatically bring in new organic fundraiser and donor data each night, keeping your records up to date without the need for manual imports.
Use the calendar on the JustGiving card to quickly check whether your imported data is up to date.
Importing JustGiving Data
To run a manual JustGiving import:
Open the Import Hub – In Platform Imports, select Import on the JustGiving card.
Choose API Import – Select API Import from the available options.
Select your JustGiving account – Choose the correct connected account.
Choose a date range – Select your own dates or use one of the preset ranges.
Continue – Social Sync will retrieve the fundraiser and donation records for that period.
Review the result – A success message will confirm the import has been accepted. If an error occurs, you can retry the import.
Once started, the import will appear in the Import History table.
The status will show whether it is Processing, Complete or has encountered an Error. To view a breakdown, open the menu next to the import and select Inspect.
Checking JustGiving Data by Date
Use the calendar on the JustGiving card to review the data Social Sync has received for a particular date.
Select a date to see:
Transactions – Number of donations recorded
Fundraisers – Number of fundraising pages recorded
Revenue – Total donation value
Dates are colour coded to help you quickly spot gaps:
Green – Transactions recorded
Amber – Fundraising pages recorded but no transactions
Grey – No data available
This gives you a simple way to check that JustGiving data is flowing into Social Sync as expected.
Enabling Nightly Imports
Nightly imports remove the need to regularly run JustGiving imports manually.
When enabled, Social Sync will automatically retrieve new fundraiser and donor data from JustGiving each night.
The JustGiving card will show:
Automated Imports Enabled – Nightly imports are active.
Enable Automated Imports – Nightly imports are not currently enabled.
To turn them on:
Select Enable Automated Imports on the JustGiving card.
Turn on Automated nightly imports.
Close the panel once the setting has been enabled.
The platform card will update to show Automated Imports Enabled.
Nightly imports help keep JustGiving fundraiser and donor data up to date automatically, reducing manual work and keeping supporter journeys connected.
