Quick Actions let Journey Builder make changes automatically behind the scenes when a supporter reaches a point in their Pathway.
Use them to update records, apply tags, move supporters between Pathways or create connected fundraisers without sending a communication.
Quick Actions can:
Add or remove tags
Add or remove supporters from Pathways
Create connected fundraisers
They help keep journeys connected, supporter records up to date and manual admin to a minimum.
Adding a Quick Action Node
Select the point in your Pathway where you want the action to happen and choose Quick Action.
When the supporter reaches the node, Social Sync carries out the action automatically and then moves them to the next step.
You can add multiple actions where several updates should happen together.
Adding and Removing Tags
Use tag actions to automatically add or remove tags as supporters move through the journey.
Depending on the tag type, this can update either the supporter record or campaign audience record, and you can create new tags directly from the Quick Action Node.
Tags are useful for tracking journey progress, building future segments, supporting reporting and recording test groups. For example, if you are comparing WhatsApp against SMS, you could tag each branch differently and use those tags later to compare performance.
Adding or Removing Supporters from Pathways
Use Pathway Actions to automatically add supporters to another Pathway or remove them from one they are already in.
This allows separate Pathways to work together as one connected supporter journey.
For example, a supporter could enter a lead cultivation Pathway after submitting a Facebook Lead Form, then automatically move into a registration Pathway once they sign up and be removed from the original lead Pathway.
This is useful for connecting different stages such as lead cultivation, onboarding, active fundraising, event preparation and post-event stewardship without your team managing those transitions manually.
Creating Connected Fundraisers
Quick Actions can also create connected fundraisers automatically where supported by the campaign setup.
The fundraiser will be created using the default settings for that fundraising platform within the relevant campaign or event, helping keep setup consistent without requiring the supporter or your team to configure it manually.
This allows fundraiser creation to happen as part of the journey itself, with the available options depending on the fundraising platforms and configuration used by the campaign.
Using Multiple Quick Actions
You can combine several Quick Actions where multiple changes should happen at the same point in the journey.
For example, when a supporter becomes an active fundraiser you could add an Active Fundraiser tag, remove a Lead tag, remove them from a cultivation Pathway and add them to an active fundraiser Pathway.
This allows one moment in the supporter journey to automatically update both their records and the experience they receive next.
Tracking Journey Progress
Quick Actions can also help you record how supporters move through your journeys.
Adding tags at important points can make it easier to compare branches, measure different stewardship approaches, build segments and understand which parts of a journey a supporter has completed.
This is particularly useful alongside Conditions and Split Tests, where you may want to compare the longer-term impact of different supporter experiences.
Connecting Your Journey
Quick Actions provide the automation behind many of the transitions in Journey Builder.
They let Social Sync update records and move supporters into the right experience automatically as their behaviour changes.
Use Quick Actions to automate what happens behind the journey, while your communication touchpoints focus on what the supporter sees and receives.
