Enthuse Event Mapping

How to automatically map Enthuse fundraisers to events in Social Sync.

👩‍💻 At a Glance

To make it as easy as possible to use your Enthuse data in Social Sync, you can set up matching rules which automatically add Enthuse fundraisers to events in Social Sync.

A matching rule is created when an Enthuse event in the Enthuse Event Mapping table is matched to a Social Sync event. Once a Social Sync event is selected, the status in the table will update to Mapped. Any future Enthuse fundraisers uploaded to Social Sync with the same Enthuse event name will automatically have a registration record created in the matched Social Sync event.

Each time a new Enthuse event is detected in an Enthuse CSV upload, it's added to the Enthuse Event Mapping table. The same standard third party events will show for all charities but Enthuse events specific to your charity will only display in your charity's Enthuse Event Mapping table.

To make Enthuse Event Mapping table more manageable, you have the option to archive outdated Enthuse events in the Enthuse Event Mapping table.

How to create a matching rule for an Enthuse event

To create a new matching rule:

  1. Go to the Enthuse Event Mapping area. You can access the Enthuse Event Mapping area via Data Centre > Import Hub > Platform Imports, then click on the node icon in the Enthuse card.

  2. In the table, find the Enthuse event you want to match to a Social Sync event. If you can't find the Enthuse event in the table, you will first need to upload an Enthuse report CSV file containing the event to Social Sync before creating the rule – see the Importing Enthuse data article for guidance.

  3. Click "Select event to map to..." in the Social Sync Event column and search for the correct Social Sync event.

  4. Once an event is selected, the status will update to "Mapped" and the rule will be active – you do not have to manually save it. While the rule is active, any Enthuse fundraisers uploaded to Social Sync with the same Enthuse event name will automatically have a registration record created in the matched Social Sync event.

If you need to change the event that has been selected, click the event in the Social Sync Event column and select a different Social Sync event. This will replace the original Social Sync event in the rule, as it's not possible to match an Enthuse event to more than one Social Sync event.

Archiving an Enthuse event

Over time, Enthuse events in the Enthuse Event Mapping table may become outdated. To prevent outdated records clogging up the table, you can archive an Enthuse event.

If an Enthuse event has been matched to a Social Sync event, the matching rule will be disabled when the event is archived. If an Enthuse fundraiser with an archived Enthuse event is uploaded to Social Sync, it will not be automatically matched to the selected Social Sync event.

To archive an Enthuse matching rule:

  1. Find the Enthuse event you want to archive in the table and click on the Archive icon on the far right of the row.

  2. A pop-up modal will appear asking you to confirm the action. If you're sure you want to archive the rule, click the "Archive" button.

  3. The status of the rule will update to "Archived". The rule will be disabled and it will no longer appear in the main Enthuse Event Mapping table.

  4. To view archived rules, click the "Archive" button at the top of the table. Once selected, the "Archive" button will turn purple and archived rules will display in the table.

Unarchiving an Enthuse event

You can unarchive an Enthuse event at any time. If the unarchived Enthuse event has been matched to a Social Sync event, the matching rule will be enabled again when the event is unarchived.

To unarchive an Enthuse matching rule:

  1. Click the "Archive" button at the top of the table and find the Enthuse event you want to unarchive. Archived events will only display in the table when the "Archive" button is purple.

  2. Click on the Archive icon on the far right of the row. As the rule has been archived, hovering over the icon will display a tooltip that says "Unarchive".

  3. If the unarchived Enthuse event has been matched to a Social Sync event, the matching rule will be enabled again. As such, it's a good idea to check that the selected Social Sync event in the rule is still correct.
