👩💻 At a Glance
Pathway Templates make it easy to reuse successful supporter journeys across multiple campaigns without rebuilding them from scratch.
Save an existing pathway as a template to help your team:
Maintain consistent supporter experiences
Reuse journey structures and communications
Save time when setting up new campaigns
Share proven pathway configurations across your organisation
When you use a template, Social Sync creates a new pathway using the saved configuration for you to review and adapt to the new campaign.
Triggers are not included in Pathway Templates and must be set when you add the template to a new campaign.
Creating a Pathway Template
You can create a template from any existing pathway. To save a pathway as a template:
Open your campaign – Go to the campaign containing the pathway you want to reuse.
Open Journey Builder – Select the Journey tab and open the relevant pathway.
Open pathway options – Select the three dots (…) in the top-right of the pathway canvas.
Save as a template – Select Save as template.
Add template details – Give the template a clear title and, if required, a description explaining when it should be used.
Save – Your template will now be available in your organisation's Pathway Template library.
Viewing Pathway Templates
All Pathway Templates are stored centrally in your organisation's Template Library.
Here you can view the Pathway Templates created by your organisation and review the nodes included in each pathway.
Pathway Templates cannot be edited directly in the Library. To make changes, add the template to a campaign, update it in Journey Builder and save it as a new template.
Using a Pathway Template
To create a new pathway from a template:
Open Journey Builder – Go to the campaign where you want to create the pathway.
Add a pathway – Select the + icon in the top-left of the builder.
Choose a template – Select Choose from template.
Select your Pathway Template – Choose the template you want to use.
Social Sync will create a new pathway using the saved template configuration. You can then review and update it for your new campaign before publishing.
Reviewing Your New Pathway
Templates give you a strong starting point, but you should always review the pathway before publishing it in a new campaign.
Add your trigger – Triggers are not copied into Pathway Templates, so you’ll need to set the correct trigger for the new campaign before the pathway can run.
Review your messages – Check for campaign-specific content such as event names, dates, links, deadlines and supporter instructions, and update anything that is no longer relevant.
Check dynamic content – Review merge fields, buttons and conditions to make sure they use data available in the new campaign. If the required data is not available, some dynamic content may not display as expected.
Publishing Your Pathway
Once your pathway is ready, select Publish to make it live and start moving supporters through the journey.
By reusing proven pathways as templates, you can launch new journeys faster, reduce repetitive setup and spend more time improving the supporter experience.
